RRB Paramedical 2026 — CEN 05/2026, Around 560 Posts

The Railway Recruitment Boards are recruiting 590 paramedical posts under CEN 05/2026, with applications closing 14 October 2026.

Railway paramedical recruitment sits outside the usual hospital channels and draws a much smaller field than AIIMS or state health drives, which is the main reason it is worth your attention.

Who this is for

Paramedical CENs cover a spread of roles — nursing, laboratory, pharmacy, radiography, dietetics and allied technical posts — each with its own prescribed qualification and registration requirement. The post-wise eligibility table in the CEN is the document that matters; a general nursing or paramedical qualification does not automatically cover every post listed.

Professional registration is checked, and it must be current. Nursing and pharmacy posts require valid council registration at the document verification stage. Lapsed registration means rejection regardless of your CBT score, and renewal takes weeks. Check yours before you apply.

How railway medical recruitment differs

Three differences from hospital recruitment that candidates notice too late:

  • You apply through the railway portal, not a health department one. Registration is at rrbapply.gov.in and you choose your board during the application.
  • Scores are normalised if the CBT runs across multiple shifts, so your raw score is not your final score. See how results are calculated.
  • Cut-offs are published board by board, so your competition is the candidates who chose the same RRB, not the national field.

The city slip and call letter are separate

Like every railway recruitment, RRB issues a city intimation slip about ten days before the exam and the e-Call Letter about four days before. Only the call letter admits you to the hall. The full explanation is here.
