Admission deadlines behave differently
Unlike recruitment notifications, admission windows are usually tied to an academic calendar and are extended far more often. That makes the correction window more useful and the original deadline less final, but it is not a reason to wait, because a late application can still land you a worse centre allocation.
Check the eligibility year, not just the marks
Most entrance exams specify which year your qualifying examination must have been passed in, and many accept candidates appearing that year. Candidates who took a gap year are the ones most often caught out by this clause.
