IBPS RRB XV 2026 Online Form — 13,706 Office Assistant and Officer Posts

Status update, 6 October 2026. Applications closed on 27 September. Officer Scale I prelims is on 21 and 22 November 2026; Office Assistant prelims on 6, 12 and 13 December.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is recruiting for 13,706 posts in Regional Rural Banks under the 15th Common Recruitment Process — Office Assistant (Multipurpose) in Group B, and Officer Scale I, II and III in Group A. Any graduate can apply, and the window closes on 27 September 2026.

The condition that decides most applications here is not the degree. It is proficiency in the local language of the state whose Regional Rural Bank you apply to, and it is checked at document verification rather than at the application stage.

A note on the numbers. Public reports of this recruitment give the vacancy count as 13,706, 13,745 or 13,757, and describe either 28 or 43 participating banks. We use 13,706, which is the most widely reported figure. The registration deadline in the original notification PDF was 21 September; it was extended to 27 September. Confirm both on ibps.in before you rely on them.

Age limit

Age is reckoned as on 1 September 2026. The minimum ranges from 18 to 21 and the maximum from 28 to 40, depending entirely on which post you apply for — Office Assistant and Scale I sit at the lower end, Scale III at the upper. Check the post-specific row in the official notification rather than assuming a single band applies.

Eligibility

Education. A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university for Office Assistant and Officer Scale I. Scale II and III specialisms require the relevant degree and, in most cases, banking or financial sector experience.

Result date. Your degree result must have been declared on or before 21 September 2026, and you must be able to produce documentary proof from the board or university confirming that date — at interview for Officer posts, and at joining for Office Assistant. This catches candidates whose results were declared late.

OBC certificate. Candidates claiming OBC reservation need a certificate in the Government of India format containing the non-creamy-layer clause, issued on or after 1 April 2026 and valid through to document verification. An older certificate will not be accepted.

The local language rule

Regional Rural Banks serve rural customers in the local language, so proficiency in the official language of the state you apply to is a real eligibility condition rather than a formality. It is usually demonstrated by having studied that language at Class 10 level, and it is verified at the document stage.

The practical consequence: applying to a state where you cannot evidence the language is wasted money and a wasted cycle, however well you score. Candidates who move states for work frequently miss this and apply where they currently live rather than where their schooling was.

Selection and exam dates

Office Assistant selection runs prelims, then mains, then document verification — no interview. Officer Scale I runs prelims, mains and interview. Officer Scale II and III are single examination plus interview.

Source. Prepared from the CRP RRBs-XV notification published on ibps.in. Cross-checked on 26 September 2026.

Where sources disagree: the vacancy total is variously reported as 13,706, 13,745 and 13,757, and the number of participating banks as 28 or 43. We have used the most widely reported figures and flagged the discrepancy rather than picking one silently.
