EMRS Tier-2 Result 2026 — Why It Is Being Released in Phases

The National Education Society for Tribal Students is releasing the EMRS Tier-2 result in numbered phases at nests.tribal.gov.in, rather than as one announcement. Phase 5 appeared on 11 September 2026 and the release has continued through Phase 10.

The recruitment covers 7,267 posts in Eklavya Model Residential Schools, teaching and non-teaching. A post-wise and category-wise cut-off PDF is published alongside each result.

If your phase has not appeared, nothing is wrong. The phased structure confuses candidates every cycle. A result published for Phase 8 says nothing about Phase 9. Check which phase covers your post and subject before concluding you have been left out.

TGT and PGT together account for more than three quarters of the recruitment. Post-wise counts for the remaining roles have not been published as a clean split in the sources we checked.

How the exam ran

Tier-1 was an offline OMR examination held in December 2025, across 13, 14 and 21 December. The Tier-1 result, with post-wise and category-wise cut-off marks, was declared in early 2026, and candidates who met the cut-off went through to Tier-2.

Tier-2 is not the same paper for everyone. For teaching posts it is a Subject Knowledge Test. For several non-teaching posts, including Junior Secretariat Assistant, Lab Attendant and Accountant, it is a skill test. That difference is part of why the results come out in phases rather than together.

Checking your result

  1. Open nests.tribal.gov.in.
  2. Find the ESSE section and the Tier-2 result link for your phase.
  3. Log in with your registration number and password, plus the captcha.
  4. Download your scorecard, and download the cut-off PDF separately.

Your password is the one issued with your admission certificate. Download both documents the same day. Portals archive results and the cut-off PDF is the only record of what the qualifying mark actually was.

Qualifying Tier-2 is not selection

What follows depends on the post you applied for:

Post typeNext stage
Principal, PGT, TGTPersonal Interaction or Interview
JSA, Lab Attendant, AccountantSkill test
All shortlisted candidatesDocument verification

Final selection weighs performance across Tier-1, Tier-2 and the stage above. A strong Tier-2 score does not carry a weak Tier-1 on its own, so candidates planning for the interview should know their combined standing rather than just their latest mark.

What to do while waiting

Assemble your documents now. Qualified candidates are routinely given short notice for verification, and teaching posts need degree certificates, B.Ed or equivalent qualifications, category certificates in the correct format, and experience documents where claimed. Chasing a university for a duplicate certificate takes weeks.

Candidates applying for Principal should start interview preparation rather than waiting for a call. The personal interaction is mandatory for that post and the gap between shortlist and interview is usually short.

Questions

Why has my result not been released?

Results are published phase by phase. If your phase has not been announced, your result is still pending rather than withheld.

Is the cut-off released with the result?

Yes. NESTS publishes a separate post-wise and category-wise cut-off PDF alongside each result.

What login details do I need?

Your registration number and the password issued with your admission certificate, plus a captcha.

Does clearing Tier-2 mean I am selected?

No. Teaching posts go to a personal interaction, several non-teaching posts to a skill test, and everyone shortlisted to document verification.

Where sources disagree: reports differ on the exact December 2025 sitting dates and on which tier certain post-specific papers belonged to. The 7,267 total, the TGT count of 3,962 and the PGT count of 1,460 are consistent across sources. Confirm your own phase and dates on the NESTS portal.
